Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders come in many forms: panic, generalized anxiety, post traumatic stress, obsession and compulsions among others. It is estimated that up to 30% of Americans will experience an anxiety disorder at some point in their life.

Without proper treatment these disorders can affect a person throughout a lifetime and can, in turn, often lead to depression. There is growing evidence that untreated anxiety increases the risk of heart disease and sudden cardiac death.

Anxiety is a very treatable illness, and treating it early in its course can prevent the negative effects anxiety has on a person’s psychological and physical health. There are many effective treatments for anxiety that are not habit forming or addictive. Dr. Dansereau prefers to use those treatments.
